Georgia is a general psychologist with experience working with children, adolescents, and young adults across therapeutic and assessment settings. She brings a warm, thoughtful, and caring approach to her work, and values creating a space where clients feel heard, understood and supported as individuals.
Georgia’s interest in working with young people began during her teenage years through volunteer experiences in orphanages and group homes for disadvantaged youth. These early experiences shaped her understanding of the importance of supporting people through their formative stages of development and during the diverse experiences they may encounter.
She responds flexibly to different learning styles, communication or sensory preferences, and fluctuating capacities. While her work is grounded in evidence-based therapy and standardised assessment, she places strong emphasis on understanding what helps each individual feel engaged, safe and supported.
Her professional experience spans across early education centres, primary and secondary schools, and private practice. Through this work, Georgia has developed a strong understanding of school systems and the ways in which learning, development and wellbeing interact across childhood, adolescence and into early adulthood. Her work often involves collaboration with teachers, learning diversity leaders and health professionals. Her practice is informed by culturally responsive principles, and she has experience working with clients from a range of cultural and religious backgrounds.
Georgia describes herself as someone who values openness to new experiences and challenges and views therapeutic support in a similar way - as a collaborative process of growth that may involve increasing self-understanding, exploring emotions and values, or gently experimenting with new ways of responding to challenging thoughts, feelings, or situations.
Whether she is engaging in play-based work with a child, developing tailored resources to support learning or emotional regulation, collaborating with educators to better understand a student’s needs, or providing support during moments of vulnerability, Georgia approaches her work with empathy, curiosity, and respect. She recognises that learning is ongoing, both for her clients and for herself.
Her therapeutic work is informed by evidence-based approaches including:
Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT)
Cognitive Behaviour Therapy (CBT)
Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT)
Psychological and neurodevelopmental assessment, including assessments of cognitive and learning abilities, academic skills such as reading, writing and mathematics and assessments relating to autism and ADHD.
